Costumes Tell the Story. We Bring Them to Life.
With 1.5M+ pieces, a working theatre legacy, and a team of legendary costumers and seamstresses — Costume World is America’s choice for costumes.
The Power of Costume
Costumes turn people into characters
and nights into stories.
From Dorothy’s ruby slippers and blue gingham to Marilyn’s white dress, from Phantom’s mask to Elphaba’s hat, the look is often what we remember most.
On film and TV, we recognize worlds by what they wear: the Handmaid’s red cloak, Game of Thrones furs, Black Panther’s suit, Harry Potter robes. On Broadway, the silhouette is the shorthand—Phantom of the Opera’s cape, Wicked’s green-and-black, The Lion King’s regal headpieces, Hamilton’s period uniforms. In music, a single outfit becomes a movement—think “Thriller” jacket or a show-stopping Beyoncé stage look.
Costume World exists to make that kind of memory possible for everyone.
With one of the largest archives in the country and a team of legendary costumers and seamstresses, we style, fit, and finish looks that feel authentic on stage and effortless in real life.
